The office community
In exchange with others, a lot of new things emerge – new ideas, new perspectives, new projects. That’s why we sit in a shared office with other great and good-natured people. “Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships”. – Michael Jordan
The Rotenturmstrasse
The name comes from a former fortification, the Rotenturmtor. Rotenturmstrasse has borne this name since 1862.
Before that, only the section between Fleischmarkt and Franz-Josefs-Kai was known as Rotenturmstraße or Rotenturmgasse. The section from Lugeck to Fleischmarkt was called Haarmarkt from 1288 to 1848. The section between Stephansplatz and Lugeck was called “Am Lichtensteg” from 1367 to 1547.
In 1685, the Armenian Johannes Theodat received the imperial privilege to sell coffee and tea and opened the first Viennese coffee house in his residence.
As a reward for his espionage activities, he was allowed to sell coffee in Vienna for the first time. He opened a coffee house that consisted of a single room with a few wooden benches. It was located in the Hachenberg House on Haarmarkt, today at Rotenturmstrasse 14.
On November 14, 2019, the Rotenturmstraße encounter zone was opened.
